I want to thank and bring to light the Christian doings of one of your members. Jared Scantling and his wonderful wife picked me up after a long night of walking after my truck got stuck in the mud. I walked all night and no one stopped for me but in the early morning hours Jared and his wife stopped without any hesitation. This amazed me. It helps bring my faith back that there are truly Christian people out there. Thank You!

You said it brings back your faith that there are truly Christians in this world. Are you a Christian? I'm sure Jared and C***en would agree with me, that we are people who recognize that we are not good and have sinned against God. We were guilty because of our sin and were heading to hell. But we also recognized that Jesus stepped in to pay our penalty and offer us a right relationship with God. We believed Jesus died for our sins and defeated death when He raised from the dead. Then we repented and started following Him. Have you done the same?

Have you read the late Senator's book? What do you really know about the Senator's life that you haven't read in some "right-wing" magazine? If you do know anything about him, then you would know that his entire life has been focused on his faith in Jesus Christ, and his desire to serve others. Especially those that are not as fortunate as many of us. He has admitted to his faults and prayed throughout his life for guidance and forgiveness from his heavenly Father. And, unlike you Mr. Lowe, does not judge others as you apparently do. I believe that God, and only God, will decide who will have everlasting life and who will be forgiven for his/her sins. Perhaps you should pray that God will open your eyes to the differences in people, differences in beliefs and differences in doctrine of individual churches. I have experienced much prejudice and ignorance from more Baptists when in comes to other faiths, especially Roman Catholic. Perhaps you should talk to your minister/deacons about not judging others and focus on what is right. That each of us has a personal relationship with the Lord and that we work daily to strengthen that bond with him through our daily actions, thoughts and words.

Karen, just because Ted Kennedy "talked" about being a Christian, doesn't mean he was one. What does Matthew 7:16 mean to you? It means that it's not about "talking" about having a relationship with Jesus Christ, it means actually HAVING a relationship with Jesus Christ and letting it show in our actions. Words are simple, everyone goes to church, but living a lifestyle for Christ is totally different. Ted Kennedy exhibited no sign of being a Christian. He just made alot of money from people like you buying his book because he threw some Christian terms around in it!

Furthermore, Why don't you read Grant's blog thouroughly before you jump on him. He basically was saying that he had a heart for people that are lost. It's called COMP***ION, not JUDGEMENT.

People like you are the reason that our country has gotten so far away from God. You believe anything and everything a politician says. Try praying for clarity when you read about these politicians. They make their living making people like you believe whatever they want you to believe!
